Lee Van Dyke Partner
Lee has more than 15 years of experience evaluating and implementing nonqualified retirement plans and BOLI financing strategies for financial institutions. Lee joined BFS in 2007, serving banking institutions in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas.
Lee began his career in the banking industry as a National Bank Examiner for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) in Memphis. In 1992, Lee became Director of Plan Design and Compliance at The Benefit Marketing Group, a national consulting firm focused on the bank marketplace. In 2000, he joined Charon Planning as a Senior Consultant and was instrumental in building their bank practice by a creating all of their original proposal and regulatory compliance templates, as well as by accounting for 40-50% of their annual BOLI revenue during his tenure.
Over his career Lee has placed more than $490 million in BOLI assets for nearly 200 banks in 34 different states. He has a full understanding of the new 409a compliance regulations required for deferred compensation plans. Additionally, he has specialized expertise in private placement separate account insurance and stable value wrap contracts.
Lee earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelors degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University. He is licensed in over 30 states to sell life insurance and variable life insurance products, and he also holds Series 6 and 63 securities licenses.
